Its been a while since I have rhymed..wanna start. For now, posting a stale poem that I had penned in 1999 for my college magazine. I basically had compiled some famous quotes in the form of a rhyme for a good part. You might find the theme very teeny and common, .nevertheless…might make you smile.

I was charmed at the lines below
A Persian poet had penned long ago
‘A friend is a word of a royal tone
A friend is a poem all alone’
Now as I attempt to present to you
The beauty of friendship in my view
Look out for true friends that are rare gems
It is chance that make brothers but hearts that make friends!
Whose inspiring words bring you cheer
In the shadows of danger, you have no fear
Ready to face challenges with all your might
At the darkest moments, you see light
Never too far, the house of a friend true
Greet your friend as roses greet the morning dew
Friendship is a blend of care and understanding, all the while
Accept the sweetness and shortcomings of your friend, both with a smile
Instead of a jewel or even a flower
Cast a gift of lovely thought into the heart of another
A friend is a present you give yourself no doubt
A true friend walks in when the world walks out!
In any relationship in life sweetened by love
Friendship plays its part all above
Love brings the finer qualities of man to light
And love is friendship, am I not right?
Man being gripped by materialistic fever
A faithful friend is the need of the hour
I conclude with this sweet little line
A friend is what the heart needs all the time!
